How I work

I listen to you

  • Tell me what you want your website to do and don't worry about the geeky stuff.
  • If there are sites out there that you like, tell me about them.
  • I will listen to you and help you understand what is and isn't possible.

I let you know what to expect

  • After listening to you, I will give you a proposal. It will be written in "real English" - not "geek speak". And it will tell you what I will do for you and how your site will work.
  • I'll give you a price quote, based upon which of my services you will need.
  • I will tell you what you have to do, whether it's providing digital photographs, specific wording, or whatever. Your role may be large or small, depending on many things. Whatever your role, it will be clearly defined.
  • I will modify the proposal as necessary until we have something we both agree upon. I do this all on my own dime: you haven't spent any money yet!

I keep you up to date

  • Once you say "yes!", I will keep you informed as to my progress.
  • Updates can be as simple as a quick email that says "everything's going fine". Or I might ask if you like a particular design. Or, I might send a note saying "hey - I need some more info from you."
  • I will never leave you wondering what the heck I'm doing or where I've gone!

I look out for your interests

  • When I'm done, I will give you documentation so that, if ever necessary, you can easily hand your site over to another web developer. Why would I do that? Because it's the right thing to do.
  • For a specified period of time after completion of the project, I will make minor updates to your website for free. Like changing some words or photos or a list of rates.
