What the client wanted
The site was for a new venture selling a natural diet supplement. The client showed me a site that he liked the look of. It was very dark and what I would call male-oriented. But the client had also given me the go-ahead to do what I thought was right.
I produced this light feel with the white background and told him it made sense because his audience would be predominantly female. He loved it.
What I did
- Recommended to the client a totally different look-and-feel, based on his expected audience, from what he thought he wanted
- Designed the look-and-feel
- Designed and created graphic elements
- Advised the client on what was required for eCommerce: merchant account, payment gateway, shopping cart and SSL and helped him secure all
- Integrated the free shopping cart "Zen-Cart" into his site, keeping a consistent look-and-feel
- Customized Zen-Cart for the client's needs
- Assisted with the selection of appropriate stock photos
- Created XML site map for SEO
